Description:

As the company's DBA I'm the responsible of all the databases, actually we have OracleDB, PostgreSQL & MariaDB. On all the databases I perform the common DBA tasks: administration, performance, troubleshooting, monitoring…
Actually our main database (Oracle) runs on a Exadata machine. We've successfully migrated 2 times of database version with a lot of internal reorganization.
Also I use to collaborate with Systems engineers as Linux specialist.

 

2012/01 - 2012/11
BSC

Main tasks:

  • High Performance Computing cluster responsible in an important scientific research center.
  • Main HPC cluster services management (HPC cluster, parallel filesystem & queues) and auxiliary services (users, security, monitoring, documentation).
  • Support for cluster user support team (1st level team).

Description:

Working together with highly experienced BSC technicians, I manage all the services of an independent HPC cluster, from hardware to job-queuing services.
Main tasks were: performance, stability and the very complicated and specialized scientific support.
Also I use to manage parallel projects as web services, ftp, ddbb's, etc.

IBM

Main tasks:

  • Team's Oracle DBA
  • Linux server's administration.
  • Application server administration: Weblogic, Tivoli Access Manager.
  • Troubleshooting, ticketing, investigation and common Operating system management.

Description:

This a IBM project for a big Spanish bank. We manage their internal application servers based on AIX but actually migrating to Redhat which run Weblogic clusters, WAS and many other application servers.
I was the team leader on Oracle common oracle tasks (update, patches, security issues & performance).

AtlasIT

Main tasks:

  • Heterogeneous service management involving Webservers, Application servers, database servers and infrastructures.
  • Operating system management.
  • Troubleshooting, Performance & investigation.
  • New technologies investigation.

Description:

In AtlasIT (now part of NTT-EU) we manage the whole customer platform, from webservers to database servers, including OS, storage… The objective was customer satisfaction through performance/simplicity and internal ease management of the platform.
This means We use to start customer server management with the migration from their previous provider and when then migration finish, We start the day-to-day server management, with troubleshoot and following customer's requests.
I also did a lot of investigation work cause the were a lot of technologies.

2006/02 - 2007/04
e-Nodus

Main tasks:

  • Internal and customer's server management (GNU/Linux and Windows).
  • VoIP (Asterisk,Cisco phones, ATA's ...).
  • IT support for external customers.

Description:

My first systems administrator experience. I manage all the internal servers (4 real + some vm's), some of them on customer's offices, supporting the dev team and customers in any of their requests.
That little company has a VoIP branch, so I did an intensive investigation of Asterisk to be able to give support to their telephone operators.
